Peter and his goblet

Peter was 41 and originally from Glasgow, but lived in Coatbridge with his family and joined Airdrie & District Round Table just over 4 years ago.
Peter was a person with great conviction and passion for living, a person who had wit and a sense of humour that characterised the person he was. He is survived by his wife, Lisa and two children, Jasmine and Ellis.
|
Peter first came into contact with Round Table when he asked for a donation towards a prostate cancer group that he was part of. In return he received a donation, but also a challenge to consider joining Table. It says a lot for him that he immediately took up that challenge, joined us and remained with us until the end.
He faced his illness with strong devotion in getting the most out of life, he loved to travel on his motorbike and joked about the life insurance that he had to have in order to allow him to do so, his answer was; “To hell with the travel insurance, what is the worst that can happen to me.”

Peter left each of his fellow Tablers with memories that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. He displayed strength of character which came from deep within, a man who had a life rich in doing good and sharing his sharp witted sense humour, even with the knowledge of what lay ahead of him. |
Through Peter, each of his fellow Tablers gained a new found strength on how to appreciate life, family and more importantly, health. Peter faced life and death with the attitude most of us just apply to life. He was a person who had a remarkable faith in life, taking and living it to the full. |

As Tablers, we live life through the aims and objects of RTBI, Peter lived them through by being at peace with life, also taking his goodwill to his fellow Tablers on an international visit to our twin Table, RT Gibraltar. More importantly for his fellow Tablers, he furthered these objects by sharing his friendship with us at meetings and other activities. Peter’s calling to Round Table emphasised that he had the highest ideals in business and he cultivated ideas to best serve his community. We will use his examples to further Tabling in his memory.
|
At this time, it is his family who are in our thoughts and prayers and we know that Peter was able to pass his energy for life to his immediate family. Peter is now at rest and we will all remember him in our different ways. Peter Holt will be sadly missed by his family, friends & fellow Tablers alike.
