'The Sleigh is in great demand all over Airdrie & Coatbridge and we are aiming to get round as many places as we can, however we are limited by the number of volunteers, the weather, road conditions, traffic & pedestrian concerns and the time available when we have Santa on his Sleigh – as he is a very busy man at this time of year!  Santa will also strive to do as many ‘Drive Thrus’ as possible into areas that are not published in the programme throughout the route.  To help Santa see as many children as he can, the sleigh will where possible, start at the end of the estates / streets and travel out towards the entrances giving a little bit of notice for the children to get their jackets on and come out and see Santa on the sleigh. Thanks again go to all of Santa’s Helpers, Tablers past & present and our partners for their continued support T.O.M. Airdrie Ltd, Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser, Martin Plant Hire, Tunnocks, Strathclyde Police (Airdrie & Coatbridge Stations) Fast Signs & JJ Travel.’  All of these companies / organisations who assist ADRT do not look for any rewards, they are simply delighted to be part of the Community Spirit which makes this area so special, and we could not achieve as much as we have over the years – thank you.

Bells Bakers come up trumps again! Santa would like to thank all the Tablers, partners and friends for their kind hospitality as they make their way round Monklands and a special thanks goes to Bells Bakers of Shotts for supplying a range of pies and goodies to feed Santa and his elves!!

This year for all Sunday routes the start time is approximately 4pm until 8.30pm & Weekdays route will start at approximately 6pm until 8.30pm.

Vice David Johnston added, 'We would ask, for health & safety reasons that parents keep children off the Sleigh as it is a moving vehicle.’ Drivers are kindly asked, for the safety of themselves & others, to ensure access routes to the estates listed are clear to allow safe passage for Santa.
