A seed which was sown a few years ago when Airdrie and
District Tablers ventured out on their first ever International visit flowered
on Saturday 14th May 2005 at the National Conference of RTBI in Glasgow.
For the first time ever a twinning ceremony actually took
place on the stage at the AGM when RTBI National President Adrian Gibbons and
RTI World President Tom Albringen congratulated Norbert Grant (Airdrie and
District Chairman) and Paul Victor (RT Gibraltar President) as the Tables
confirmed their twinning.
As a first step, the Tables made a joint presentation of
football shirts from their local communities to the Round Table International
appeal for sports goods to be auctioned on e-Bay for the tsunami victims.
A truly Tabling way to kick off the twinning.
Both Tables are committed to making this the start of a
long and fruitful process of good will and international relations between the
Tables. We look forward to the future.
